A dreamer is one who can only find his way by moonlight, and his punishment is that he sees the dawn before the rest of the world.
Oscar Wilde
It was once said that the moral test of government is how that government treats those who are in the dawn of life, the children; those who are in the twilight of life, the elderly; and those who are in the shadows of life, the sick, the needy and the handicapped.
Hubert H. Humphrey
I love the silhouettes of sunflowers and the heart shape of their leaves. Every year I capture a few shots against the dawn or sunset skies.
I am tired in the mornings, and hate getting up before the sun, but then just as I have to get going, the light comes again, and there is so much healing in it.
Just gotta fav this! Outstanding morning shot.....fabulous perspective and that silhouette of the sunflower is so awesome. The dappled rays of the sun rising makes it perfect! Great job, Dixie. Can you tell I like this shot? ;-))
It was worth the extra effort of getting up for this, Dixie! (And I know how you feel ... don't want to takes pics when I just get up!) Your quote and comment are beautiful ... reminds me so much of my Mom who was so crippled from arthritis and was bound to a wheelchair.
doesn't this seem to represent our lives? the dawn, the start of a day the events of which we can see sometimes but not knowing how it will all unfold, like the silhouttes of the flower and its leaves, and the beautiful colours that are just there for the taking. very lovely photograph, dixie, and well worth the effort for waking up early to catch this.
Very pretty- I'm the same way. I'm not good at getting up early but when I force myself to do it, well, the benefits far out weigh the inconvenience. Love the colors in the sky.
