The same setting over the years has been Harris Beach, just on the North edge of Brookings/Harbor Oregon. The beach is often empty and cold, sometimes sunny and hot and crowded, well, not crowded by southern california standards, but for southern Oregon.
We have walked here as newlyweds, let our greyhounds run here, strolled together while carrying two toddlers, built sand castles and had picnics, come here alone after stomping out from an argument, come here to talk it out after. Sometimes the big rocks are under sand sometimes they are covered with pelicans and out in the water, sometimes the tide is out and they are 20 foot high and begging to be climbed.
Just above the beach is a forested campground. We've only stayed there one long weekend and yet it is lovely, just too close to home to get all the camping gear organized for,
love all the blues in this collage, Dixie, and how you describe your times spent here. It must be so wonderful to live near both forest and sea; the best of both worlds. Another beautiful collection of photos and again, I love the one of you with your son the best. You hardly change at all over the years.
@pandorasecho LOL! i was going to say, me too. but since i met malcolm when i was heavy, i can't really say that. i am pretty happy with the way i am now except, for some reason, i keep having to lose 5 pounds. and then another 5 pounds. or my blood suger is too high. so then another 5 pounds. sooner or later i will end up on medication, my doctor says, because that weight limit is getting lower, lower, lower and i eat then about 20 minutes later my stomach starts to growl. not good. always hungry and for someone who normally is not hungry at all, this is hard way to live. have a constant headache. but i already take - get this - 7 meds a day plus 3 on a crisis basis. do not want to take more and now i have to change my presciption insurance carrier and each one i call won't cover some of my meds. nightmare city. what will i NOT eat this week?
Nice collage of a neat shoreline. I've been at the Oregon beaches several times and often it has been stormy and/or cold. The blue depicts this. The B&W gives it a focal point.
