Future Dreams by pandorasecho

Future Dreams

I am a few days late posting a November Sunday picture! Because I am in this strange point of my life where I feel like I've finished most of the things on my bucket list but I need new goals! So I have been a Mom, but the kids are grown, 30 year of marriage, still good , but future and present and past, how different will they be? Where I have been, europe, asia, central America, but now I'm comfortable in the same house for 16 years. Teaching already for 23 years, a book or 3 published. But this Future Idea? At 49 I'm too young to have no new stars to reach for. So I got to thinking. I remembered two years ago when my in-laws were married for 60 years. I celebrated with them but was a bit jealous too, because my own parents only made it 36 before my Dad died of cancer. I realize that I want my future to include the hope that our 30 years is no more than half of what we will share, but I also realize I don't want the last decade of my marriage to be fighting illness and senility and so I need to move both my husband and I into healthier choices as far as food and exercise and healthier tomorrows go.

This sign hangs on the front porch at my in-laws home. Mimi and Harvey Goode married in 1950 and raised 6 children. I was welcomed into the family when I married their youngest and it has never been anything but home to me. You will note the 60 in the word Goode instead of the double o.

So I am Thankful I have a wonderful partner to share my journey into the future with.
An inspiring post, Dixie. wonderful goal and one i hope you and your husband are successful in meeting.

We should always have hopes, dreams and visions. For without a vision the people perish. Life is a journey, a blessing, a gift. This is an excellent goal. Always try to be happy no matter what, life is way to short :-)

You have much more to do before having to do a bucket list. I agree with the pic - let them roll onwards.
