Stone Barn by pandorasecho

Stone Barn

The word for today was rocks, and everything around where my Mom and Lance live now seems to be made of stone, either marble monuments or cobblestone and brick buildings to field stones piled in old crumbling walls everywhere

I wrote about the trip from slightly different angles on both my blogs this week

What a great looking barn. We do not see to many stone barns in our neck of the woods

The soil is pretty rocky on this side of the US, so you make use of what nature gives you. Back in those days, wood was more important for keeping the house warm, so rocks were the building material of the day. I like this shot and how Lance seems to have embraced the life of a farm hand.
