The word stacked stones made me think of cairns of course, and there are a lot of them at the beaches and river banks around here, but then I thought of this faithful, but deadly lighthouse and its incredible history. Built after the Brother Jonathan Tragedy, and a difficult light for its keeper to get onto, and the top lifted by helicopter and dropped, then repaired and lifted back into place not many years back. It fascinates me more than our other, more easily photographed Battery Point light.
