This may seem like an odd collection to claim as part of my memories collected over time, but when I was a child we lived in a neighborhood where all the lawns were uninterrupted grass and kept short and soft enough to run through barefoot as a baby. My favorite flower was the dandelion. At Grandmas house we picked big paper bags full of the blossoms and made jelly. At my teachers house we had a picnic and made crowns and chains with the milky stems, at the park we blew the parachute seeds through the air and chased them while making wishes, but at my house uprooting them with a long tool was my delegated job and I felt like a murderer. I swore to my Dad that, "When I grow up my yard will be full of dandelions!" and it is - 2 acres of little suns greeting me when I walk my Dog.
three good things
1. dandelions
2. grandmas
2. Dads, even stubborn ones
@olivetreeann thank you for all the views and comments and for being my friend. The comment about passing things on to a grandchild really moved me today because the girlfriend has been so moody and angry that she hasn't spoken to me in three weeks. So I'm holding on to the hope that it is only pregnancy hormones and nerves and not that I might be cut out of the child's life.
Love your misty dandelion shot. My daughter is the same way with dandelions--she loves them! We're a little lax with yard work around here sometimes, so through the warm months she has a yard full to play with. Loving this challenge, by the way! Thanks for sharing your idea! :)
