Steampunk was the word of the day. I'm thinking clockwork armies, wind up Angels, Victorian era with a goth twist. Fun novels. I really don't know exactly.
My understanding is that it's like Around the World in 80 Days meets Star Trek! I like the time piece and doll. And I think you've gotten the feel of it pretty well.
