Fire in its place

I live where I get 100 plus inches of rain in an average year. But this is far from Average. Mid winter we usually hover around 40 degrees and have rain and wind here in the CA rainforest

Since before Christmas we have had more days reach 70 than rain and today is the first ever red flag fire warning ever for this area. Not just first for this time of year but first ever.

I can't imagine a forest fire in the redwoods but the scars on the trees assure me they have happened

Looks a little like our home right now- toasty warm. I hope the woods stay fire-free.
