fallen

You know you live in Earthquake territory when you totally miss the fact that a redwood fell in your yard because you felt the house shake and waited, and then turned the page in your book and ignored it

It really didn't hurt anything and yet it was this strangely twisted piece that resembled a unicorn head near the top. I'll miss it and the funky wildlife it attracted like squirrels and flickers and woodpeckers. As soon as it fell the cats headed up and started sniffing where the squirrels usually hang out

this was the other one that fell when we did need help, and that time too, at first I thought it was another earthquake

I like the way you have developed the story in these photos. The use of SC enforces the end result!

glad no one got hurt. earthquake is why i didn't choose california or british columbia when i migrated here. i've experienced it a lot back in the old country; seen a tall concrete wall crack and move and another time, the road in front of me cracked open! and that's my reason, too, for not going to hawaii! :-)
