My Mother-in-law is living in the Senior Manor but they have a lovely picnic spot where we got to have a couple family picnics while we visited. Everything tastes better in the open air.
The other thing is quality of life; if you have a place where you can go and have a picnic with your family, it doesn't matter if it's a recession or not, you can include that in your quality of life.

Three Good Things
1. simple pleasures like any food shared with the people you love
2. dirty dishes with dirt and twigs on them
3. having time to sit and chat and the electronics left behind (well except my camera)
