I bought a pizza dough and rolled it out, buttered it and sprinkled with cinnamon and brown sugar, rolled and sliced and put it in two stoneware bowls, lined with pecans. Then I boiled 1/2 cup of half and half, with 1/2 cup of brown sugar and 1/4 cup of butter and poured over it and baked in 350* oven and turned out onto plates. The house smelled so good!
oh, great heavens, is that all there is to it? i was planning to make new zealand sultana cake but got foiled last saturday. maybe this is what i will make instead. thanks for sharing. nice presentation, too, so casual and homey! i like it.
@summerfield if you don't have a pizza dough, you can make pull apart, monkey bread instead bu quartering canned biscuit dough and rolling in cinnamon sugar, the layering in a casserole dish or loaf or bunds pan with pecans or raisins and pouring caramel sauce over that instead.
I have got to try this. Thanks Dixie. You've made my sweet tooth crave something like this right NOW. Unfortunately, it's 9:00 p..m., and I really don't feel like going back into the kitchen tonight. Tomorrow!
