Regrowth by pandorasecho

Regrowth

The trees around here often started this way, by sprouting not from seeds but from the wood of a parent or "nurse" log
Very interesting!

@danette @aikimomm @sarasdadandmom @francoise @olivetreeann close to my house are two things, no three, that started this way. One is a long line of trees, growing with above ground roots wrapped around a shape that is mostly gone but was obviously once a log, called The Never dying Redwood. Another is a circle of trees around where a stump was, and the third is a huge half circle of towering redwoods touching each other, with a large pulpit in the center and a slab of redwood engraved with a john Muir poem - called the cathedral tree
