Today was one of those emotional twists that the passage of time can create and hit you with unexpectedly. I have a picture of my Dad and my sons at this spot, and while we were watching the kite, it suddenly hit me that I'm the grandparent now, and my Dad has been dead nineteen years, and suddenly my own mortality was staring at my face until I shrugged it off and got back into the moment, and what a good moment it was
