Day late and dollar short by pandorasecho

Day late and dollar short

Thanksgiving was a bust, with no power, so no cooking, no running water, husband out of the country, sons at work, and granddaughter insisting turkeys are real animals who walk and have faces and we should eat fake meat like chicken or pork.

So we managed to bake and cook a bit on Friday, but Friday night at ten the power went out and stayed out until 3:10 and It was too dark and quiet for me to sleep and then my phone kept beeping with updates and it was the first night since Greg left that Daisy didn’t sleep in his side of the bed so I was awake all night. I feel hung over. When I did drift off a Greg called from Frankfurt Germany and I could barely talk.
Nice collage of your busted Thanksgiving. I hope things have settled down and that you now have power again.

So sorry to hear about your terrible Thanksgiving ... sounds like a good time to hit a restaurant that may have power - hope everything is back to near normal now!
Quite the collage!

Oh Dixie, I felt so sorry when I read this sorry tale! Put my own moans tonight into proper perspective! Three of my B&B guests never turned up tonight. Booked since last May & they never had the courtesy to let me know! Grrrr! It pales into insignificance competed to your woes! Look forward to Christmas now!

Ps, I did laugh though when I read the turkey bit!

Oh dear, it sounds like you had an awful Thanksgiving. Someday you'll look back at it and have a good laugh (or maybe not). Hopefully things will look better soon.

Oh dear it sounds like if it was possible to go wrong it! I hope things are better now. How long is Greg away in Germany for? Is he back soon?

Sorry it went like that but you put together a beautiful collage

I'm so sorry your Thanksgiving was so topsy-turvy. I think it was worse for you since Greg was away. It's funny how having that anchor of support changes some of those power outages. I don't do as well with them as I used to but now that we have some generator assistance from the neighbor we can manage. Your story reminds me of a couple Thanksgivings ago when the water heater broke! I was able to cook everything and then we took it all down to my sister's in NJ- who knew you could transport a turkey complete with all the fixins' for two hours and it would still taste good?! It sounds like Daisy kept your spirits up and you managed to make an adventure out of the power outage. Hopefully things will be a little smoother now. The collage seems to capture your eventful holiday nicely. Only a few more days now...
