Coming home from my mom’s funeral in November, Daisy and I dropped My husband at the airport in Portland to go on a trip with his choir to Rome and a few more European Cities. Then faced with a seven hour drive with just a four year old, we stopped for a couple hours in Springfield Oregon at an indoor wave pool and water park. For eight months she has been begging to go back with Daddy and Grandpa. We finally blackmailed them into a weekend up there by telling them it’s my birthday on Tuesday and they both have to work and I do them all kinds of favors so they need to do this weekend for me. Yeah, I went there, a little arm twisting required but we all had a blast. We left right about 5:30 in the evening and were registered in the hotel at 10:45 which crushed the granddaughter. The hotel pool and hot tub closed at 11 and we didn’t make it in that evening. The next morning she slept until nine which is when the breakfast bar closed, but because grandpa was already seated and eating she managed to join him and get some fruit and yogurt. Then she found out the pool closed again from ten to three in the mid day! What craziness is that anyway? But since SPLASH opened at one and stayed open for seven hours of public playing in their many pools, she was soon in water baby heaven
