@koalagardens no, but you arenât the first one to suggest them to me. My granddaughter and I just read all the Harry Potter books, plus the script for cursed child, and watched the fantastic beast movies - so we are looking for a series to get into. @bellasmom We loved the movies, my granddaughterâs first time through them and I tried to stop her with the first three but she handled all the darkness in the rest of them and wants more.
@koalagardens daisy is only 8, so I really didnât think she would be ready for Harry Potter beyond book 3. They get a half a grade level harder in reading levels with each book, but I was reading them with her, and her conversation about the books showed that she was understanding them.
reading levels are really only based on averages. my granddaughter who is reading WoT now, actually I was wrong (I have a bunch of grandchildren and ages are hard to keep track) is 14 now. But she read Lord of the Rings through when she was barely 12. Her comprehension of the complex story was impressive.
Has she read the Deltora Quest series? My younger son and I loved that and read it together when he was around 11 or 12.
