image in its heart

Heart ( or spelled Hart) mountain in between Cody and Powell Wyoming, looks different from every angle. This mountain is upside down as the oldest rocks are on top, because it was bulldozed into existence by a glacier. It was also the source of the name of the WWII Japanese relocation camp, and yet as a child, the view from my bedroom reminded my great Grandmother (a Sioux, who lived with us when her home burned down) and I of a man in a headdress, stargazing, so I tried to draw what I saw.

This month my project album will be pictures of things that look like something other than what they are.
I can see your reclining Sioux dreaming of better days. Lovely challenge for yourself. Look forward to seeing what you find.

I enjoy the four versions stacked up in collage formation. The drawings really compliment the photos!

Once you've seen the bottom drawing, it's there for all time. I like the drawing that makes it look like Italian hill towns too.

Interesting the way it was formed.

Love the idea of seeing both the mountain in its natural beauty and as something a story grows out of.
