At 6:20 pm last night we had a hailstorm, it was very dark set my camera at f3.2, 1/60 sec, ISO 800 and flash, ventured out into the back of my garden and took some shots with the hail stones bouncing of my lens and head, resulting image looks so much better in black and white.
Just thought I would check out a couple of 365ers while I am having my early morning cuppa and before we set off towards Victoria. Glad I did, this is amazing. the things we do for 365. They must have been huge hailstones. Hope you or your camera didn't get injured.
@onewing Thank you for your great comments Babs, both myself and the camera survived the impacts without damage, didn't stay out that long, have a safe journey and a wonderful time:)
Fantastic idea and shot, Peter! Your selfless act of exposing yourself to such abuse for the benefit of us, your followers, is impressive indeed! We had a hailstorm here yesterday too - the beach was coated in white - a sight I have never seen in Southern California!
@stray_shooter Thank you very much for your comments and weather report from Southern California Ron, that's amazing who would have thought that you got hail in S.C. was it the first time ever?
@stray_shooter I don't think it was the first time ever - we've even had snow on occasion, but it's something that occurs pretty infrequently. It was the first time that I had ever seen the beach coated with the white stuff though.
Thanks for your moon advice. I'd forgotten about - comp. Looked at your photos and absolutely love this hail storm photo. Have tried capturing one here, but they are so rare and of such short duration, I have never been able to get it together fast enough.
