Went out with my 300mm lens to capture something wild in the country this was all I came back with.
one of the most iconic and friendliest of our wild birds.. love the detail in the feathers Peter and the catch-light too.. he's a beauty..

@jorlam Thank you Jorlam such a pretty bird and very approachable I was only about twelve feet away, when I took the shoot, it then flew off frightened by the sound of the shutter I suspect:)

Still a beautiful shot though even if it wasn't what you expected to capture.

If I'd have been out carrying a 300 mm lens I would have come home with a hernia.

@lynnz Thank you Lynn for your interesting comments, just looked your Robins up on Google they both have similar eating habits and yours have much darker backs but they still look very pretty:)

@onewing Thanks for your comments Babs actually the 300mm lens is a light compact lens only weighs 0.75 kg, its my 400 mm professional lens used for motor sport you wouldn't want to carry it weighs 1.75kg plus the camera, lol:)

@suesouthwood Thank you Sue yes a pretty little iconic British bird was all, I was out looking for squirrels, foxes even a Kingfisher failed with these, lol:)
