Gold Letterbox by pcoulson

Gold Letterbox

I mentioned this letter box earlier in the year and went back Saturday to take a shot of it the story is:- every British competitor that won a gold medal at the 2012 London Olympics had a letter box painted gold in there home town this one stands in Castle Square Lincoln and is dedicated to Sophie Wells winner of the Equestrian team gold medal;)
I'm sure I can think of a smart a... comment eventually but I'm a bit slow this morning. Nice shot Peter

What a great idea. Are they just normal post boxes painted gold or is this one specially designed?

@onewing Thanks Babs for your comments , this letterbox dates from around 1859 - 1866 its called the Penfold design and I understand there only a few still used in the UK, the Post Office just picked a box and painted it in the competitors home town;)
