I can believe that. Our thistles have a fabulous purple flower. And our state grows one kind of thistle to eat - artichokes.

In Scotland, their thistle may be the national flower but, over here, the Canada thistle is the scourge of my garden.

Yes, I know. Superb image. Amazing what you can do with some water and a withered flower. I would love to try that but our freezer is always bulging with eatables and my wife would not let me if I tried.
