Checkered Lily Flower by pdulis

Checkered Lily Flower

I came across this gorgeous little flower in our backyard - my wife's always surprising me with the lovely little flowers she plants :)

Many thanks to my 365 friends for voting this one into the TOP TWENTY :) worldwide

Thanks everyone for your feedback on the names - “Fritillaria or "snakeshead." or "Fritillaria meleagris" or "Schachblume" (chess flower) or "Kibitzei" (lapwing egg).
Lovely capture

@pdulis it's not the best pic I've got of them - but it's the one I could find. If you like them you could buy your wife some as a present - and then have the entirely incidental pleasure of shooting them next year! ;-)

@anniesue - thanks Annie - do you have a link to your white flower?

What a beauty --- and lucky you, this is exactly the flower I want to plant in my backyard because it attracts butterflies and bees and won't be eaten by squirrels.
