is learning how to use my camera and becoming a better photographer. I just signed up for photography classes at The Light Factory Contemporary Museum of Photography and Film. I need professional help! Classes start next month and I'm so excited!!
That has to be the coolest place to have lessons I have ever heard of!!! Lovely shot to mark the event - hope you've gone cover to cover with those books!
Congrats on some awesome equipment. I'm sure your future photos (after a few classes anyway) will reflect the change. You go girl......
Nice composition too.
Peggy- I think you images are very good, and I am sure your class will bring exponential growth to you as a photographer! I'll enjoy watching your progress.
I also think your photographs are fabulous. They come from your heart, and honestly, I like those best. But, I will say, that yesterday when I was stuck in a teeny tiny bathroom with not the best lighting, this huge lightbulb came on that I didn't know was even plugged in! I turned my camera to the dial where you can adjust the aperture and played with it until I had light!! It was like a miracle. I couldn't use the flash because there were too many shiny objects in the room. My heart was pounding the whole time.
Great shot. I know you will enjoy the classes. I have been taking some lighting classes and I am learning so much. I will say you take great shots now... look out after the training...Gallery shows by Sirk!!
I am "jealous FOR you" how exciting is that... I look forward to hearing about it Peggy and love this shot!! You are going to be something special in the world photography!!!
This is so my favourite passion too. We can never learn too much.... always reach higher! Great shot. Great news about enrolling in your course. I have to wait another 12 months before I can start my Bachelor of Photography. Can't wait to see what you come up with during your studies. You go girl!
Looks like you have all you need to get started :) You take some fabulous photos already, so can't wait to see what you come up with once you take some classes. Have fun!!
Superb news Peggy, go for it ! Its making me think outside the box a little and appreciate professional photographers work. Ive met likeminded people on my course and we all help each other! well done you. ;-)
Well done. Ones' horizons can never be too wide. Love the photo and am wildly envious of both your equipment and the opportunity to take classes for something which is, very evidently, a great passion. Good luck.
Thanks for the very supportive comments, everyone. I just had a feeling a moment ago that maybe I shouldn't have mentioned lessons in the event that I don't improve...or get worse. :)
Really nicely composed shot, Peggy. As usual, I love the placement of your signature! I'll be looking forward to hearing about your classes. What classes are you signed up for?
@ellida@barbsmith Thanks, Graham and Barb! I'm looking forward to learning about what I should be doing! I think I've gone about as far as I can go on "feel" alone.
Barb ~ the name of the course is "Intro to Digital SLR Photography". I'm starting with the basics. There are all kinds of advanced classes that look very interesting after I learn the difference between an f stop and a bus stop. :)
I am happy for you but, I like your shots now. When you get to professional level, will you still talk to us point and shoot people. lol I love how you arranged the items in your shot.
@caeralee
I'm starting with my camera issues and see how that goes. If I become a well known photographer I can let all the other "issues" slide because talented and creative people are expected to be a bit odd. :)
@peggysirk I took a few classes locally, and I think the best thing was to be able to go out and shoot with a group of people - we would take pictures of the same thing but end up with completely different photos! 365 is great for encouragement and tips, but there is nothing like having a warm body to share the experience with :)
So jealous! You are going to have so much fun. You already have a great eye...I can only imagine how great your images will be when you feel a lot more comfortable with how your camera works! Can't wait!
This is such a beautiful picture. I love so many of your shots but I think this is my very favorite. And your watermark, as usual, is excellent! How exciting about your photog class. I can't wait to see what you learn!
@peggysirk You will be brilliant!! Your shots are already amazing, and from what I have seen from others I am following on here, within a couple of lessons you will learn a whole barrow load of new tricks. Cant wait to see your results Peggy. Good luck with the course.
@hannahturpin
Thanks, Hannah! I received my Buzzabee pkg in the mail on Wednesday! The box smelled so wonderful when I opened it ~ Love, love your products!! Thanks!! And I love the complimentary lip balm! :)
@kimshawball
Thanks, Kim! I think I've gone as far as I can go on "feel" alone. It's time to get serious about what I'm doing. We'll see how that goes. :)
Congratulations on signing up for classes....how exciting! You're already a natural so with some lessons you'll probably be going pro in no time!! :) This is one of your very best shots yet...I love the placement of your watermark on this one!

Of course I'll still talk to you, Terry ~ but only between my celebrity photo shoots and gallery openings. heh heh :)
