Too bad it's 40 degrees (4C) outside, otherwise I'm sure some neighborhood kids would be taking advantage of this fire hydrant gone wild. I saw a robin splashing around in the water, but it flew away before I could get a shot. I'm not sure what the deal is with this hydrant. It's been gushing water all day. The utility dept. came out, put a few orange cones in the road, and left. That's all I have for today...it's been a cloudy, unusually cold, lazy kind of day.
Nice composition and water capture. They do this where I live, too - something about flushing the system and making sure there's enough pressure. But I agree about the waste . . . seems like they could do something with it (like water city plants!!).
maybe the hydrant is broken but sure makes a good photo!!
