Filler Alert - this was taken last Saturday at the NC Balloon Fest. It was not a windy day ~ had it been, the launch would've been postponed. I'm not sure how I happened to be holding my camera to get this angle. But it works for today, as today is a very windy day. The outer bands of Hurricane Sandy, off the coast of the Carolinas, are reaching this far inland. Nothing severe...no rain or damaging wind...just very breezy. Folks are preparing for a major weather event further north along the eastern coast.
Three good things:
1. Thanks so much for all the good wishes yesterday for our house hunting expedition. Your good thoughts were very instrumental, I'm sure, in my mom's finding the perfect house. Today begins the negotiating. I'll let you know what develops. I'm so excited! :)
2. The University of Georgia/University of Florida football game. It's a biggie. GO Dawgs!

What a neat shot! Glad you used a filler because I love the balloons, and I love that you are sticking to your goal of posting. We are battening down the hatches in preparation for the storm, but today is a lovely calm October day...so I am getting out to enjoy it.
@bpaquette Hold on to your hat, Barbara! Looks like you could be in for a wild ride if what the meteorologists are predicting comes to fruition. Have you heard what they plan to do in your area if there are massive power outages on Election Day? I've been curious about that.

Oh what a great shot to signify things moving on. How exciting to have found a house already - we won't let on that it's perfect or they'll negotiate harder! Hurricane Sandy sounds like a nasty one. It's been quite wild here today - it often is during October half term - but not on a par with a hurricane!
@sarasdadandmom I hate hearing that your balloon fest was cancelled!! :( I know that Lisa said there was an Indy 365 meetup planned around that event. That would have been so much fun for everyone.
