Tom got a cheaper rate by using a Level One stylist...but he was quite pleased with the process and the result. Posting early with shots from last week, as actually Granddaddy is getting his hand 'done' today...the second, and final, step of hand surgery.
Three good things:
1. Game 1 in the World Series playoffs for the ATL Braves tonight ~ Go Braves!
2. Tom got his golf clubs out of the attic in anticipation of a properly functioning hand after a couple of weeks of recovery
3. A good book to read while waiting for my patient
What a fine head of hair Tom has Peggy...he must be quite proud of his hairdo.....perfect for the little hairdresser to practice with & better than doing yours perhaps!!!
ope the surgery is successful & the golf clubs are fired up soon!!! What is your book Peggy if you don't mind telling?
@happypat Just downloaded "Someone" by Alice McDermott. It's a nominee for the 2013 National Book Award for fiction. I started reading it this afternoon in the waiting room and I think I'm going to like it.
An overview: A fully realized portrait of one woman’s life in all its complexity. An ordinary life—its sharp pains and unexpected joys, its bursts of clarity and moments of confusion—lived by an ordinary woman: this is the subject of Someone, Alice McDermott’s extraordinary return, seven years after the publication of After This. Scattered recollections—of childhood, adolescence, motherhood, old age—come together in this transformative narrative, stitched into a vibrant whole by McDermott’s deft, lyrical voice.
Hasn't she done a grand job curling it!?!?! Best of luck for a speedy and uneventful recovery so he can get back on the links soon!! Seems like you have the life of chauffeur these days - it's how I spent my summer between my mom and husband!
@bpaquette I totally can commiserate with your summer of chauffeuring/caregiving! Things are beginning to look up. Tom's procedure went without a hitch and he's healing nicely. My mom has been given the okay to return to normal activities, excluding heavy lifting. Just need to take her for a bone density test on Wednesday, then we'll be through with appointments for the time being.
Awwwww, so cute. This is one to treasure! The book sounds interesting, btw. Must add to my super long wishlist on amazon.com :-) Glad your hubby is recovering so well. Keep it up!
