Well Fed by peggysirk

Well Fed

This cardinal on the back fence looked like he had enjoyed his time at the bird feeder. :)
I'm falling a little behind with comments and hope to catch up with everyone this afternoon.

Three good things:
1. AAA auto service - they had a tow truck at my house within 15 minutes of being called this morning at 6:30
2. The cab that Tom had to call to take him to the airport was here within 10 minutes
3. My car is in the shop being fixed and should be ready tomorrow afternoon

Great service all the way around made a craptacular start to the day a little bit easier to handle. :)
The reason we join these companies...you won't begrudge it next time the subscription is due!!! Isn't he a colourful chap......we have nothing like this in the UK.....even our dear little robins pale into insignificance!

A wonderful focus for this bright bird! Maddening about the car!

Great shot. I love the contrast between the bird and the background. And the bokeh is fabulous!!!

Spotted this on FB, and rushed right over here to fav it! Fabulous focus of Mr. Cardinal with that puffed out breast. And the bokeh background really adds to the beauty of this shot. One of the best cardinal shots I've seen here. Congratulations on getting that great pose.

@happypat Pat, we've been rescued by AAA enough to know that we could never be without that service. It's so nice to make a call and know that help is on the way. :)

Gorgeous capture Peggy! Cardinals can be a bit shy when it comes to posing for pictures, so you did really good! My personal opinion is that he was flirting with you. Let's be honest!
I also sing the praises of AAA. Don was a little peeved the first year that I signed all of us up, and it wasn't more than a week later that he locked his keys in his car with the car running. He hasn't complained since. Have a lovely day!

I think this cardinal may still be on your fence Peggy - I doubt he can take off... Glad you managed to rescue your day.

Love you "Fat & Happy" cardinal...looks like life is good! As for your day...it sounds as though attentive people saw you through the crisis!

Funny you should say that, Judith. This guy sat there f.o.r.e.v.e.r on the fence despite my making extra noise just to see if he was ok and could fly. Eventually he did take off and seemed to be perfectly fine. Guess he was just being fat and lazy. :)

@petersonsheri We just started using AAA about five years ago, but I wouldn't be without it know. We've already recouped more than our membership fee with their services with two tows and a car rental. Did you know they also have a locksmith service if you lock yourself out of your house. I was reading all of the services in their brochure when I was on the phone with one of their associates yesterday.

@cimes1 Thank you so much for the fav and the wonderful comments, Carole! This fat little cardinal sat on the fence so long I was able to get a dozen shots to choose from before he finally took off. :)

Wow, he is one really well fed bird....the least he can do is sit still so you can take a portrait of him and what a GREAT portrait it is. I couldn't believe the detail when I enlarged it....awesome capture Peggy!
