Street DJ by peggysirk

Street DJ

My favorite street DJ was playing the hits on a beautiful spring-like afternoon at the corner of Trade and Tryon Streets.

Three Good Things:
1. Uptown energy
2. Using boiled shrimp as 'pill pockets' for my cat's newly prescribed thyroid medication. He doesn't have a clue there's a tiny pill hidden inside one of the shrimp pieces. Thank God.
3. Hot dogs on the grill tonight with my almost 6 year old great nephew who is coming over for a few hours after school while his mommy has a business engagement.
I must try shrimp pill pockets then.......crafty! I love street music, it seems to lift everyone's mood! I think the six year old will be very happy with the hot dogs!!

Thank goodness the shrimp pockets do the trick, Pat. I was really dreading having to get two pills a day down my gangster cat! He has always loved shrimp and eats it up so fast the pills have gone unnoticed. ☺

Street DJ's are new to me. I know buskers who play their own music, but not an outdoor DJ. Fun concept and would bring some good sound to the streets. Like the framing of this shot too.

This guy has an interesting shirt design! Wonder what it says. My cat would have eaten the shrimp and spat out the pill!

Nicely captured - congrats on fooling the cat - that isn't easy!

I tagged it as a good thing too soon, @linnypinny. It worked this morning. Tonight the pill was all that remained in the dish. :(

Cool street scene and so nicely captured. I put Daisy's pill wrapped in natural peanut butter.

@cimes1 I used to use peanut butter, cheese, beef, actually anything worked for my dogs. A cat is an entirely different issue. I'm having a heck of a time trying to get pills down that guy. :(

@peggysirk Oh yes, I can understand that a cat would be a lot more difficult to give a pill than a dog and they love fish so glad you found something.

Try two dabs of butter - one on index finger, one on middle finger. Put pill in butter on middle finger. Let cat lick index finger - and quickly switch to middle finger and usually the pill is just gobbled up. Good luck. Love the crispness of this shot!

@bpaquette Oh my gosh...I think that might work! I just did a test with a little butter on my finger to see if Scrappy would even be interested in butter. He about licked off my fingerprint! I'll give it a try with tomorrow's AM pill. Thanks for the tip, Barbara! I hope he likes butter enough to fall for butter pilling twice a day for the rest of his ninth life. :)
