Farewell to PennyLane by peggysirk

Farewell to PennyLane

Our neighbors, George and Jodi, lost their beloved friend, PennyLane, two days ago. We will all miss her gentle presence in the neighborhood. George wrote a touching post on fB yesterday, part of which follows...
"People always asked "is she a rescue?"... the fact of the matter is that when we bring a dog (pet) into our lives we are the rescue. They teach us more about love, loyalty, caring, nurturing and nature of animals. Most of all, they teach us compassion. In a world that seems to be short on all those virtues I am proud to have had PennyLane rescue me. It's my recommendation you go out and have a pet rescue you. If you already have that pet by your side, give them a treat or a lil pat on our behalf. Thank you for the memories, PennyLane. I love you and will miss you dearly."

Three Good Things:
1. Well loved dogs/pets
2. Compassion
3. Gratitude
this makes me so sad. what a lovely shot of PennyLane. pets make out lives so full and rich. George had it spot on, didn't he? I know my dogs have truly rescued me on so many days, when I have not felt the best, when my days have been just bit too long, when I have been a little blue. I have been napping on the couch and woken to find Lola's head in my lap with her big eyes gazing up at me. How wonderful is that?

My condolences to your dear friends, Peggy; it's heartbreaking everytime we say good-bye to a beloved little family member. Reading how George and Jodi felt about PennyLane, I know she was pampered and loved to bits! Every loss is a tough one. My heart goes out to them.
