Cracking Eggs at the Crack of Dawn by peggysirk

Cracking Eggs at the Crack of Dawn

It took 35 dozen eggs to make egg & sausage casseroles for lunch at the soup kitchen. Also made stewed cinnamon apples (in the big pots on the stove in the photo background) for a comfort food lunch on a rainy and cold winter day.
Three Good Things:
1. 200 lunches served to hungry folks in the community
2. Lots of groceries available to supplement their weekly food needs
3. Sunshine in the forecast for Wednesday
It’s really a great feat that you pull off every week. Amazing as always.

@happypat The majority of our meats, produce, cheese, eggs, and breads are donated by wonderfully generous grocery stores and food suppliers in the area. We buy staples like rice, pasta, flour, sugar, butter, oils, milk, paper goods, cleaning supplies, food containers, bottled water, etc. with Soup Kitchen funds. We have a wonderful group of generous financial donors/sponsors.

Your volunteer work always impresses me, and saddens me to think of so many people in need.
