I didn't go in search of a dragonfly today which is probably a good thing. If I had, I surely wouldn't have found one! I was in the garden with my camera ready when this one landed nearby. When my zoom lens couldn't seem to focus on him, I was pleased that I had the wherewithal to switch to manual and got the shot before he flitted away. I'm not a big bug person generally but have to admit to being pretty happy with this fellow.
I never realized Dragon Fly got double wings. How unobserving am I. It is so transparent, the stalks show through the wings. It makes your day. Well done.
Wonderful catch, Lisa. Interesting color and like the processing. Lovely detail on the wings.
My dragonfly capture the other day was also a lucky one - these guys are quick.
Wow - that's amazingly detailed. Well done for being able to switch to manual and focus so well in a short time (because they don't stick around long!)
I 'am' a big bug person (as you've probably gathered ;o)) and I just love this. Stunning focus, great composition with the two blades of grass cutting diagonally across. Fav for me xx
Wonderful color and wing detail. It is always nice to have such a clean background. We see a lot of these, but this is one of the better ones. Fav again.
Not only is the detail awesome, the colors are great! How perfect to have a red dragon fly land on that bright green blade of glass- the opposites on one another that make the photo pop!
I do not know how I missed this all week! And yes, you are right...you cannot just go with a set idea of what you have to shoot. Well, not most of the time. This a gorgeous dragonfly shot! congrats on the TT and fav!
Not been around much this week LIsa so haven't commented on this. A fabulous capture and the detail in the wings is incredible as is the vibrancy of the shot. A fav and a huge congrats on TT too! Well done!
