Tonight was the second night of a two day Beginning Photoshop class where we were to bring our own images to edit. I had taken this one earlier in the week, but didn't like the skewed perspective that occurred from shooting up at the signage. It was so exciting to learn how to do a perspective crop and correct for this. Magic! A few new editing tools later and this baby was ready to post!
This is great! I'm encouraged by your narrative....I have photoshop E9 on my computer, and have never used it....my son just told he me will GIVE me photoshop, but I dunno. So, when I see what you've learned, makes me consider it.
@nanalisarocks Lisa, it really wasn't as intimidating as I thought it would be. I think it is helpful to just start with a few basic edits and learn those, then move on from there.
This is exciting to see because I've been totally intimidated with PS and LR, sticking with my old Aperture and its plugins. But what you've just described is exactly the kind of thing I wish I knew how to do. I like this image a lot -- the label of building on the building, and the curves, lines, and tones of the b&w.
Awesome !!:)I have the PS and LR software ---no patience to used 'em. specially am not planning to be a pro--just love this as a hobby :)cool shot, btw!!
Lovely lines and contrasts with the clouds. Class sounds good - I know I need to get to grips with PS but I spend all day on a computer at work and can't face going back onto it when I finish - really need to get over that!
Cool shot! Looks like something from an old Holllywood B&W movie. Sounds like an interesting class. I have taken a LR course and that was fascinating but I don't know anything about Photoshop. Hmmmmmm.... next course, maybe.
Fantastic capture, composition, and editing. I would love to take a Photoshop course, since I use it but for what I have learned by myself. I'm sure there are so many things to do with the program, that I don't take advantage of them.
It is fun learning the capabilities of software. The perspective corrections are nothing short of magic. Very nice result, and the b&w treatment is great.
This is very cool. I love the geometry and the subtle tones. I guess it's the Something Building ? but I like how you've angled to get the one word - nice interpretation.
Love the processing - I do like your processing style.
@elaine55 Thank you so much for visiting so many of my photos this evening. I know that takes a lot of time and I really appreciate it! i'm so glad you like this shot. The building is a fairly new building but has some nice Art Deco design features.
Fabulous shot - I love black & white. I so want to learn more about processing. I've been advised about Aperture for Mac users - wondering if you've come across it?
Love the processing - I do like your processing style.
