My sons catch the school bus at 6:30 am, a hateful hour for all of us. It's cold, dark and generally unpleasant outside as we make our way to the bus stop. This tree with its glowing golden canopy has been catching my attention every morning this week. Today I decided to bring my tripod along and attempt a shot of it. I don't have much experience with night photography (or crazy early morning photography!) so it was fun to experiment.
At first glance I really thought fire was involved. Really like the glow cast on the ground too. I agree 6:30 is an ungodly hour, particularly in the winter.
A burning bush, almost! Well caught. I should think that, at that hour of the morning, the warm tones must be quite comforting. 6.30? Poor lads, poor you - what time do they get home, it must be a long day for them!
Very cool effect! Love that crazy orange of the streetlamp. We had to catch the bus at 6:30 in middle school too, ugh. At least it was only two years then.
like vijay, looks like the burning bush at a distance for me! very strong image in the tough early morning hours! i know, as i leave at 6:30 to teach flute to some of my early morning marching band kiddos. very nice motivation to bring that tripod along!
6.30 a.m that is mighty early, how old is your son? I'm not a morning person so that would finish me off after a year or two. A nice tree to start the day with though. BTW how did you get all your TT pics to open on one page like that?
@jo13 Hi Jo, I have two sons - ages 13 & 14. To get all your TT or PP shots to open together, you just need to tag them. I use my initials and pp or tt as the case may be, i.e. lcstt. Then when I do a search for them with the tag they all come up together. I just copied that link into my profile page. Hope that makes sense.
@dulciknit@dh Hi Alison and Delena, Thank you for both for your comments and concern for our ridiculously early mornings! My sons attend a school focusing on math and sciences about 40 minutes away from where we live. They get home again around 11:00 am. They take their English, history and foreign language classes at home in the afternoon with a virtual school. It is an unusual schooling combination! Thanks again for your comments.
@taz_o Sorry for not responding to your earlier, Tamzin. This is a large ash tree (at least I think it's ash. ) Anyway, it has a full canopy and all the leaves have turned golden. Thank you so much for your comment!
Nice capture...thought it was on fire!
