I've had my eye on this vintage sign for awhile now. It looked particularly intriguing against the stormy skies so I decided to stop for a few photos. By the way, the sign is about the only thing that is grand about the "Grandview Motel". Best to resist the lure of a kitchenette and wifi and pass this place by. :)
The sign is great -- and the sky fits the idea of people now wanting to keep driving and looking for places to stay. But the wifi part sets it in this contemporary time!
What is it about vintage motel signs? Fellow 365er, Bruce Grayum, and I spent an afternoon photographing them a few months ago. This one is particularly well done with the lights and clouds.
