A member of my Photography MeetUp group offered to lead us in a session of light painting. It was so much fun! Here he is demonstrating steel wool light painting. We tried with flashlights and flashes as well. Another photography bucket list item checked off with this one. Can't wait to try it again sometime!
I was thrilled by your responses to "Light on the River". Heartfelt thanks for your comments and FAVs!
I've seen other photos of this process, and really need to try it. Maybe on the shores of Bear Lake! Spectacular image that would have been better without background distractions. Maybe the really bright spots could be removed.
@rvwalker Thanks Ross. Yes, the area really wasn't quite dark enough. It's actually rather challenging to think of places that would be completely dark in the city. Going outside of the city was logistically challenging for some. Also, we had to be concerned about dry areas and possibly starting a fire! I wouldn't know how to edit the dots of light away. Oh well, it's not a work of art. Lots of fun to do. Definitely try it sometime!
This looks such fun! We're planning to do some light painting with sparklers but haven't quite worked out logistics yet! You seem to have a really active photography club - how great
Well this certainly puts my humble attempts with the sparklers to shame! Would have loved to be part of this light painting session. It's a brilliant shot - I love the way the light fills the whole frame.
