This is a detailed view of frost covered hills processed in BW as an entry for the BW book club.
In the book, the author discusses the role of B&W in emphasizing volume and form in an image, as well as the texture. "In monochrome the massing of light and shade and the reproduction of texture are of the utmost importance." I felt like this image illustrates this well. Black & white accentuates the gentle curves of the hills and the frosty grasses and brush.
fabulous shot ... great texture ... love those layers and your processing .. FAV .. must confess it made me think of the human anatomy from far left .. lying next to each other .. maybe its the wine :-)
Hi Lisa - love the layers in b&w! Regarding your last question on my metal print - I used a local company. You're in the US right? Check out Bay Photo - very reliable company. http://www.bayphoto.com/metalprints/
What I particularly like about this is that (for me) there is no immediate sense of scale - so until I read your comments I wasn't sure - are they hills or is it something undulating under a macro lens. Super tones and textures!

Oh yes, it does illustrate the text well, it´s practically a text book example! frost covered hills, how wonderful, it looks a bit like sand at the first glance, very pleasing forms
