Nobody at the Phoneline Shop for this disgruntled customer
Nobody at the Phoneline Shop for this disgruntled customer....well that was my initial thought when I spied this shot. He was probably on the phone to his girlfriend !!
Shot at lunch time in the drizzling rain. A mobile phone shop all shut up...shutters down to stop vandalism.
A lone man on his mobile phone, stood outside a 'closed' mobile phone shop, not bothered about the rain ....a bit similar to a lone man with his camera ....not bothered about the rain ...except I was not alone...I was with whippet...who was bothered about the rain !!!!
A stark, grainy, urban black and white shot in a damp and wet Arnold town centre.
Ha ha great shot! Brilliant commentary. Whippets and rain like oil and water do not mix well! Get her an equafleece dog jumper (the faux collars are rather fetching) they do a whippet cut (slim) they are quite expensive but very robust, wash up as god as new and don't let a drop of rain in even if it is torrential. It has to be a bit nippy tho cos they are quite toasty, it was cold enough in the big smoke today in the torrential rain and howling gales. Ours like theirs and will happily trot out in them if it is raining a tad. They just stop every so often for a shakey-shakey (you will know exactly what I mean!)

@tashy Tashy it was a busy street, the main shopping centre, I took 4 shots, 3 of which had umbrellas or people blocking the scene....just lucky timing !!
@sparkle thanks Juliette, actually I think street photography is 'quite' easy when you have a 'decent' point and shoot camera (you blend in quite well) and every shot you take seems to have a story behind it...
I use the term 'quite' in inverted commas because it is not that easy, but is easier than composing a landscape or macro :)
Poor Ruby I bet she has to do some standing around !! This is a rather sad picture, he looks fed up & on his own ! I have been out in Blackpool today y but feel very conspicuous with my camera ..did this guy see you taking his photo ?
@happypat Pat, my little panasonic TZ7 has quite a long zoom, so i was fairly anonymous and besides he was too busy chatting !!! thanks for your comments
@phil_howcroft the best ones are where the shakey shakey emanates gradually over the whole body to reach a spray dispersing crescendo in the tip of the tail - it was Freddie One Eye's forte if you could get him out in it in the first place- he hated the rain. I presume your friend knitted the coat not knotted it macrame might be a tad uncomfy on the move at whippet warp factor 12

Ruby also has a winter coat (never worn yet - March 2011 -when we got her, was very mild)...we also bought her a rather fetching pink raincoat :)
A shakey - shakey, yes an excellent description, they shake so fast, love the sound of the ears flapping when they do so :)
it all adds up, and the black-clothed bloke makes it.
Ace.

I bet you will be good at it too :)
