This is taken from the back of my shd looking up at the mass of lavender.
It was really hard to isolate a few flower heads but I've managed to get the central two heads fairl sharp.
Manually focussed, with quite a wide aperture to emphasise the bokeh and keep the background out of focus.
It was a beautiful day today, the temp hit 30C according to my garden thermometer (don't know how accurate it is).
Spent all day in the garden .......cut the grass, tidied up the pond, did a bit more pruning and cutting, did some watering, had sunday lunch el fresco, did a bit of photographing flowers and whippets, walked ruby twice , had tea outside too (with a rather nice bottle of chilled vino rosado - rioja - campo viejo tempranillo)
Not too sure if this image works, but I like it
Phew that's me caught up with my pictures !!! Will catch up with comments tomorrow :)
Well I think it works beautifully!! Lovely detail! A hot day for doggies (Monty is desperate for a haircut but every other dog in town wants the same thing) but proper summer for us. You're going to have to move your shed to give these lovely lavender the aspect they deserve.
Nice pic Phil. I have a little pot of lavendar outside. I can only imagine how wonderful it would be to have a big patch of it growing in my backyard. Ahhhh...I can smell it now!
@judithg thanks judith, lavender spreads rather quickly...we had to dig a whole load up a few years ago...they got all leggy and woody....they ran alongside the path that went to the top of the garden
@cath thank you Catherine, it was a hard shot to get right, took me quite a while because the bushes were so full of flowers ..i could have clipped the bushes to make the stems more isolated , but then the lavender would not have been the same afterwards
I am sooooo behind in my comments! Lovely shot...lavender always looks so good, even behind a shed. Admired your hanging basket....:-) and saw the evil eye in the salon lol but this is my favourite of the bunch. Thanks for your comments to me. Your day here sounds wonderful..as good as mine around the pond! :-)
