A few weeks ago our eldest daughters boyfriend called on our house and asked to speak to my wife and I.
He told us he was going to ask our daughter to marry him while they were on holiday in Kos.
Apparently he got down on one knee on the beach and asked her to marry him.
By the time they came back from Kos, we were in Menorca, so it was quite a while before we got to see them.
These are a couple of engagement cards that sit on their mantelpiece (actually the one of the left is from me and the wife and the one on the right of the frame is from Matt's parents)
Not the best of pictures (a tad grainy) but a record shot of when we nipped down to my daughters house to see her engagement cards !
Very polite and I'm glad your wife got a look in - always wise to keep in your mother-in- law! Well it'll all kick off now Phil - there will be colour schemes and flowers and table plans and favours and stuff you never knew you needed!! Your best bet is to nod and keep signing the cheques!!!
How lovely Phil! As everyone says, how nice of him to come and see you first. Does it make you feel old?? I bet it doesn't seem that long since it was you!
@judithg thnx Judith , when matt called at our house and said he had something to ask us I knew what he had come for...my wife thought he had come round to ask us to water their garden while they were on holiday !!!! I'm good at 'nodding' :)
here you go phil just for you buddy .. http://365project.org/steveh/bits-and-bobs
