We're Going Down With The Wigan (and Blackburn) !!

Apologies to any Wigan or Blackburn supporters about the title......but......

There's a football song that opposition supporters sing to football teams and supporters that are playing really poor. They sing "You're going down with the [insert name of team that is bottom of the league] '

The season is over a quarter of the way through and we have only won 2 games out of 10....So to quote opposition fans.......'You're going down with the Wigan'

We lost 3-1 at Swansea today, had another player sent off and apparently defended appallingly.

I don't know why I took this photo (other than the fact I hadn't took a picture all day), but it sums up the frustration of being a Bolton Wanderers fan...well a footie fan in general.....unless you support a sexy mega rich team, with rich overseas owners , you are always going to be a struggling club and have more bad times than good times.

This is a photo of the BBC website showing the Premier League Table and we are next to bottom.

I've post processed this image to give it a feel of the old saturday evening sports papers' you used to buy.......before the age of loacal radio... local tv ....sky sports... the internet.... fans message boards...... all we used to have to keep us up to date was the local saturday evening sports edition paper .........the Bolton Paper was 'the buff' (printed in buff brown'....the manchester paper was 'the pink' (printed in pink....quite appropriate for the now diverse manchester) ...sheffield had the green 'un (printed in green).....

A pretty poor picture for a pretty poor excuse of a football team

Is this one for the 'fear' theme Phil? At least you're up there - some Northern teams I can think of are no where in view...

A football supporter is an unhappy lot sometimes & personally I couldn't stand the stress !!! Never mind you have to experience the lows to enjoy the highs ( so said someone who talks rubbish !!!) Early days yet anyway so keep hope !!!

Just watched the game on Match of the day Phil , sending off was very harsh .. Bolton will turn it around it's early days .. Think they need a break then it will turn around ..

@steveh I've just watched MOTD too, we defended dreadfully...the sending off was a poor excuse by Coyle :(

..have to say, you deff in a bad run.. the treacley slope gets harder and harder to climb.
We/Leeds always thought we'd survive..
however, footy flipside - i genuinely think the lower leagues provide a lot of fun and the rollercoaster here is interesting with the view of getting back to The Promised Land..(ha!)
mind you, playing League 1/Div 2 was never fun.
scary times.

@steveh @sleepdozer57 yeah... def going down :-).... about time too :-)..

But gotta agree, once out the hullaballo of the premier league, you soon realise what proper footie is and tis good going to every game knowing you can win, whereas the prem league is all about hype, hoping to survive and scrapping thepoints against wolves, wba etc...

I feel your pain. We (my husband and I ) used to follow a particular baseball team until it broke our hearts one season too many. After that we stopped watching and felt liberated. I recommend it!
