Corner Ball - Tuesday Night Football by phil_howcroft

Corner Ball - Tuesday Night Football

I went to watch Arnold Town versus Staveley Miners Welfare on Tuesday night in the Northern Counties Eastern League

Details of the match are :

Arnold Town 3
Staveley Miners Welfare 2

Attendance 101

The floodlights are quite weak, so you could not get proper action shots with movement . This is shot from behind the goal as the players wait for a corner to be errrr 'crossed' into the box !

Arnold are in the maroon jerseys and Staveley in the 'Luton Town circa 1973/4/5' orange !!

Non League football is a breath of fresh air from the English Premier League especially when your team (Bolton Wanderers) is next to bottom of the EPL.

I like the vivid colours and the angle of the shot with the goal netting and crossbar and post.

Pity about the floodlight glare and a bit of flare too...but we are in Europe and flare's are quite common on European football pitches (a footie pun that ...not a vey good one though)
Awesome shot, Phil, great colors and light, and so clear!

Great outdoor atmospheric photo of your boys night out !!! Like the way you have caught the action in the goal area & such a clear shot of the pitch through the net !! Did you note Leeds 0 Blackpool 5 !!! the other night !!

Cool shot Phil - I think I might have to support Stavely Miners Welfare just because they have a great name. @andycoleborn However much the southern-centric government may suggest otherwise most Lancastrians consider Manchester and Liverpool to be in Lancashire instead of those new nonsense counties!!

@happypat thanks Pat I did notice the Blackpool score.......despite being rivals of Bolton, I've always had a soft spot for Blackpool....I think it's the tangerine jerseys...I always like footie teams in vibrant oranges and yellows :)

@judithg HaHa... you know, as Iwrote that I wondered whether Manchester was Lancs or its own metropolitan area... Still... There's only one team in Hampshire.... :-)
@phil_howcroft early days yet mate... Norwich/Swansea punching above their weight at the moment...

You are a true fan, being one of the 101! I like the sense of immediacy in this shot. You did a great job keeping both the net and the players in focus.
