Reebok Stadium Players Entrance by phil_howcroft

Reebok Stadium Players Entrance

I took this picture outside of the Reebok stadium before Bolton Wanderers played Stoke City in the English Premier League.

It is the players entrance to the Reebok Stadium. a rather unassuming entrance for a rather grand stadium !

If we had lost I was going to say you cannot see many players because they 'didn't turn up on' ( a football expression for when a team plays poor...the 'players didn't turn up')

Anyway, the players did turn up as we won 5-0, to avenge the disastrous defeat at Wembley to the same team in the FA Cup Semi Final in April of this year.

The blue fencing you can see propped up against the wall is erected pre match to allow the players to walk into the stadium safely. As this image was only 15 minutes before kick off all the players were 'safely inside the Reebok' .

Way way behind in commenting and I am posting pics out of sequence too. I'll fill in my gaps and catch up with commenting tomorrow. Thanks for all your support and great comments
I heard that Bolton had won 5-0 !!! Many congratulations on a splendid win, you must have been singing all the way home !!!! The Reebok Stadium is a very impressive building from the M61 !! My daughter sometimes parks her car there & gets the train into Manchester !

I like the long shadows and the vast expanse of concrete. Congratulations on the victory.

A view i see most days ... & good win yesterday ..We drove past the Reebok before kick off , on route to Rivington noticed a large group of stoke fans singing before the game at the beehive pub.. dont think the coach home would have been as noisy do you ..lol...

@steveh thanks steve, a welcome change in fortune for the wanderers :) ..especially the first goal...the Stoke fans are always noisy, but as the goals went in they quietened down a bit

Shouldn't really comment as a Stoke City supporter...this is, after all, about the photography, but I can only congratulate you for even going along. After the (surprise) thrashing you took at Wembley when we hit a purple patch, I suppose we asked for it....!
