Friday Night Wine : Campo Viejo

We usually share a bottle of wine on a Friday evening.

This is a macro shot of the bottle we shared tonight.

Actually it's the back of the bottle.

It's probably our favourite wine. Campo Viejo do a fine selection of reds and rose wines.

We stock up on them if ASDA, Sainbury's or Tesco's have an offer.

This is the crianza...the youngest of the red rioja range.

@marlboromaam marlboro, young lively and fruity to my tastebuds, .........according to the label...velvety intense cherries on the nose ,spicey cranberries and redcurrents to taste!!!

i'm enjoying a rioja red as i'm viewing this. in my case, it's a Cuné crianza 2008 (recommended). nice shot of this particular label, which i am quite familiar with....

just a slight correction, though (sorry to be pedantic): both "cosecha" and "joven" wines are younger than "crianza" (while "reserva" and "gran reserva" are older...) ;-)

Campo Viejo only do crianza, reserva and gran reserva over here ....I'm planning on serving a gran reserva on Christmas day....although i don't know if it might get a little lost with all the flavours on Xmas Day

We've tried a Cuné Monopole Viura (from Waitrose) which is rather nice :)

@judithg ahh judith ..the days of being a 'taxi driver' have gone now....i remember when my daughters were early teens ..I taxi drove almost every weekday !!!......Don't worry though your children will soon pass their driving test and will want to borrow mums car ...and then you will have to buy them a car ..enjoy your 'late' G&T's :)
