This is from last year, when Arnold, Nottingham and the UK in general were gripped by winter snow in what was the coldest winter in over 100 years.
This was shot one lunch time when I was stuck at home in the snow (no 60 mile commute to the office) and using the wonders of technology to work from home.
Today is has been balmy warm , well about 8C on the shortest day of they year.......hey the days start getting longer now (this was posted Wednesday 21 Dec)
This is Arnold St. Mary's church , which has featured many times on my 365
This is lovely, Phil. We really couldn't have had more difference in weather between today and this time last year, could we? Mind you, mild Christmases always seem a bit wrong to me.
I remember reading that Piers Corbyn said it would be a cold and snowy winter. I also remember that no one wanted to pay him any attention. I like his weather predications. He more accurate than most of our weather folks over here in the states. Great winter scene, Phil! Snow is beautiful and great to play in but, I sure hate to drive in it and have to go to work in it.
Remembering those cold days of last winter is amazing. We had the same situation here in the usually temperate Mid-Atlantic states. Big snow last year; today mild and 60 F. As I get older, I confess, I am willing to forego a white Christmas.
Not a footstep in sight !!! Was a bit of a nuisance but wasn't it Christmassy !!! |I think I would rather have that weather than this dark grey stuff but we are retired so don't care if we can't get out !!
This is a wonderful shot Phil - love that we get to see some of your shots from last year - you got some good snowy ones - and they reckon it's 20 degrees warmer this time than last year!
with that wonderful building behind.
