Clock Tower Church Door by phil_howcroft

Clock Tower Church Door

This is the door to clock tower at the back of St. Mary's Church (see yesterdays photo). It's not the main entrance !!! (thnx Pat !!)

Another monochrome image and a very straight on shot.

The speckles of white on the floor is 'pigeon muck', the larger bits of rubbish is discarded food and food wrappings (I assume from pupils of the nearby school............a big assumption I might add......but probably right)
Such lovely old architecture! It should be treated with more respect from the people around it. Some people just want to trash everything! wonderful textures in the old stones and brick. Great capture, Phil!

You'll have to get your mop & bucket out next summer Phil !!!! Not the main door you will be walking in though I presume..doesn't look like the main door . Like the way the arch of the stone work is complimented by the carvings on the door itself.

I love doorways and gateways, this is a lovely shot, love the black and white...............now a bit of information for you Phil, pigeons hate the smell of WD40, could be worth a quick spray!!!

Sad, when you imagine the masons and carpenters who once worked on this door and frame with such pride, but photography is perfect for highlighting this and you have done just that.

I like this...It speaks volumes about when work really meant having pride in what you did!
