Another view from Wilkos Car Park

Wilko's Arnold car park is on top of the store.

You can just about get some views over the town from the top of the store.

These are the rooftops of some of the local houses.

Some of you will notice that the gable end house is also a barbers shop.

Pity about the leaf in the top tight hand corner,
Beautifully captured

Wonderful chimneys & it all looks lovely & symmetrical. You don't see many Barbers poles nowadays , its all unisex now isn't it? Perhaps not in Arnold & you wouldn't be seen dead in a ladies hairdressers!!
I like the leaves in the top it softens the outline & I love the little face in the window!

I love the texture and tones of the brick you captured! Lovely lines and patterns, too!

Love the symmetry and the warm tones. I really like the window box on the side of the building. Glad you pointed out the barber shop. I thought it was a flagless flag pole!

There can't be many traditional barber's poles left. Nicely spotted, Phil!
I bet they don't offer 'Something for the weekend, sir?' anymore haha

What a great slice of England...barber's pole and all

A really nice shot Phil, I love these terrace houses with their warm red bricks, especially the barber's shop on the end. (also the satellite dishes all aligned!)

Actually I didn't notice the leaf - great view of the chimneys. (I can hear the Coronation Street tune in my head now!)

I agree with @busylady - proper northern (though in my eyes Nottingham is 'south'!) rooftop shot. I see they've all got dishes as well as aerials now. I like an aerial - it's photogenic - a dish not so much!

@happypat thanks Pat...actually I go to the same hairdressers as my wife (not together I may add) .....a nice man cuts my hair :) .....Gary...he does a good job :) .......in fact I think I've always gone to the same hairdressers as my wife !

@judithg thanks Judith, Nottingham has lots of rows of terraced housing...I'm thinking of doing a series of 'a view from ASDA car park', because that too has a rooftop car park...1970's architects ...must have been a fad in those days !

@allie912 thanks allison, on the subject of flags , there are still quite a few flags flying from the jubilee festivities and the England soccer team are playing a european soccer tournament, so that encourages a bit of flag flying too !

June 22nd, 2012
@marlboromaam lol lol Maggie...worse things than spitting have happened on this street ......... a man was murdered on this street a few months ago !
June 22nd, 2012
@phil_howcroft Good grief! What was he killed with and why?
June 22nd, 2012
@marlboromaam Maggie, a young man (in his 20's I think), was found unconscious with head injuries last summer.
June 22nd, 2012
