The view from the number 87 bus

Many of you who follow me will know that I have an occasional series of 'the view from the no. 58 bus' ..........top deck front seat.

Well this is the view from the 87 bus. A single decker, so no panoramic shots from the top deck.

Note that we are sat on the raised bit of seating. The bit over the wheel, so you can see where you are going better.

Things of interest in the picture......

1) The green livery of our Nottingham buses.

2) The monitor...shows you up and coming bus stops en-route and rather unnerving has a cctv display window that roams around the bus ...you can occasionally see yourself looking gormless and vacant or see the back of your head . It's on a time delay so if you scratch your head to add interest you see yourself scratching your head 5 seconds later !!

3) The good citizens of Arnold and Redhill

4) The red 'stop button'

Great composition!

Love the CTV ...big brother stuff!!! You will be sitting sideways I presume & I must say you grow good bright hair in Nottingham!!! Have they both been at the dye bottle!! Ah no one is wearing a hat!!! Buses have got very modern since I last ventured on one!

Shame the CCTV wasn't on you at the time!! The screen is great, at least strangers know where they are going/went/missed stop!!

Yes, I like that raised seat. It makes you feel a bit more important somehow! Or in your case ( scratching your head etc) a bit more visible to others! Haha!

See that you were going via Mansfield Road. Clearly the route was less congested this way!

@caddick thanks Mike :) well spotted re Mansfield Rd.

@tishpics thanks patricia, the raised seat is a good choice....I think they call it 'stadium seating' in the automotive trade :)

@fannyb thanks fanny, there's also a recorded voice of a 12 year old boy saying 'next stop Redhill Lodge Drive' :)

@sparkle thanks juliette, Ruby has never been on a bus...in fact she's not a frequent traveller in the car......she gets travel sick !

Oh I like this view. I'm worried about blokes (or indeed women) being traumatised by sudden discovery of bald patches!!
