If the title confuses you ....it's a football expression used to describe the defence ...your four defenders who play in front of your goalkeeper
The flat back four here is the four high vis jackets....... a police constable and three "safety steward's".
The shot is actually from last night (19th), when I visited, Pride Park in Derby to watch my team Bolton Wanderers take on Derby County.
Bolton are in the navy jerseys and our goalkeeper is wearing orange ...which fits in quite well with the title as there is a man in an orange coat behind the back four high vis's !!!!
The match wasn't up to much, it finished 1-1, Bolton conceding a late equaliser. All the goals were scored in the little nets, which is quite unusual because you would think it would be easier to score in the big nets .
It was really really cold last night sat on the plastic seat watching average footie !
@cdonohoue rarely any trouble at football these days cathy ....although there is always an 'edge' at football matches...22K peaple attended the match and there were probably 700 Bolton fans at the match ...this shot is from the 'Bolton End' (rival fans are segregated in different sections of the stadium)
I have decided that I have inadequate clothing for spectatorship...my friend has taken to wearing ski trousers. Still you've got to take the average with the spectacular.
@judithg ha ha judith i'm very experienced at winter spectating....t-shirt, hoodie, fleece, north face coat, wolly hat, sock, thermal socks and thick tracky bottoms (jeans are a no no ....especially if it's raining !)
Good shot of the action.
