This is the sequel to the previous shot...... Operation Tree Felling - Take 1
We've carried the ladders through Arnold and now this is Mat up the tree felling some big branches that overhang Kirsty and Mat's garden.
The ladders have slipped away ........they needed me to apply weight to the feet as they slipped on the wooden decking.
As you can see from the scale, it's one big tree for an urban garden.
If I said "be careful Mat" once, I must have said it a hundred times.
I was quite keen to climb up the tree too, but my wife 'put her foot down' and said "don't be ridiculous".....quote / unquote !!!
Shot with my mobile phone. I told my wife to bring my little panny TZ7 but she didn't !!! A family morning outing ...Me, Jane, Ruby....Kirsty and Mat....Ruby sunning herself on a garden chair watching the birds and listening to the neighbourhood dogs !
A seriously large tree for suburbia!!! and I'm not sure what Health and Safety would say...I think your wife was very wise!! He does look rather precarious and a long way from terra firma!
I don't think he looks safe, no wonder you were concerned!!! Brave man!!! Hope he chopped the right branch ...a slight slip there & it could be serious!
I would say the same thing too!!!!!!!
... no helmet or harness! My husband has been cutting wood for years - no qualification, and I've only just recently managed to [persuade him to buy a helmet and goggles! All's well that ends well!
@busylady judith , alls well that ends well ....... Mat said he used to help his grandad when he was younger , so he seemed to know what he was doing !
No ropes then?! It drives me mad when Nigel does his (although not usually this high!) and you get tensions in the tree that can release and 'ping' you off - technical term - so I'd leave it to the youngsters!
