Yellow Waiting For Tangerines

Last game of the season at the Reebok Stadium.

All Bolton Wanderers had to do was win, to finish in a play off position.

Unfortunately we drew 2-2 with Blackpool and lost out to a play off position on goal difference to Leicester City.

It was an 'old school' game of football. A Lancashire "derby" involving two famous clubs.

This is a line of yellow waiting for the Blackpool fans arriving from Horwich Parkway railway station.

The travelling fans had a police escort (including horses) to the ground.

Fans arriving by 'a special train' is old school (it's only a short rail journey from Blackpool to Bolton) !

Blackpool fans (about 3K of them), took great delight in the fact they were party 'poopers', spoiling Boltons attempt to get into the premier league.

At the end of the day (a footie cliché) we were not quite good enough over 46 games.

Anyway, no football now for me until August ! Bliss ...no tense Saturday afternoons !

Oh for those of you not 'getting' the title...Blackpool play in tangerine orange jerseys.

haha funny I always feel I've had enough of footie come April and look forward to the break... Missed all the last day shinnanigns but caught up with them later.. sounded like an eventful day for many fans..

@andycoleborn it was a tense day...on 94 mins we were in the play off's...but Leicester scored a last minute winner at forest ...and 1 minute later we were out !

Such a shame Phil, I seem to remember the beginning of the season wasn't so good for your boys...hopefully they'll come out paying in the form they've had for the last few weeks next year to be in with a chance!! You can enjoy putting your feet up now the nice weather has arrived! Great title btw
